Yes, Sterling, I bought the fuse that you got from DJ.....Also have aquired lots
of other Piet stuff, including several engine projects, etc.

Just running out of gas....my wife wants me to reduce the inventory, so I am
looking for one that is done....and done well. Happy to pay the right price for
      an excellent Piet or GN-1

I regret to admit I am leaning toward a metal fuselage and the Riblett
wing. The next logical step is the Grega. The whole point of my choice was
price, open cockpit and the ability to use Corvair power. Does anyone know
of any builders support or mailing lists? Could someone talk some sense into me?

The GN-1 mailing list on Grega's site is down as is many of the links
and such. I fear the GN-1 is going to whither away with time. The late
designer's son has ceased distribution of the plans and there appears to
be no indication when or even if he will start up again.

If you already have plans go for it, but getting plans isn't possible
      now unless someone sells thiers.

Don't regret building the plane YOU want. What you will regret is
wasting a lot of money and time building, and probably not finishing,
the plane someone else wanted you to build. As DJ can attest, builders
of the GN-1 are welcome on this list. Just remember to remind people
your building a modified Grega and don't take everything you here
personal. The thing that gets people all riled up is to call it a
Pietenpol just call it by the right name and all will be good (mostly).
We should all remember to call them Aircampers and GN-1's. I just pulled
out my copy of the GN-1 plans and if your looking to build a steel
fuselage these are the way to go. Much more detail then on the
      Aircamper drawings.

As to talking some sense into you, it seems to me you already have
enough sense to know what you want. The Aircamper is a fine plane, the
GN-1 is a fine plane and your Ryan-Camper 1 will be a fine plane too.
Just start building and stop worrying what others will say. It's your
money, your time and your dream.

Thank you Chris. They are both such great aircraft. I am an ex Champ pilot, and
that may be what's pulling me in this direction. It was at the Ohio Aeronca Aviator
fly-in, when I saw my first Pietenpol (I think it was Michael's) and have
just admired the design ever since.

      Hi Guys,

Here are some pics of my tube squishing tool. This is the way Tony Bingelis
says to do it. Works great and very cheap. Two pieces of angle iron in
      your vice.
