      Steve,
When I rebuilt my A-65 this past winter I found the best prices thru
Woody Herman. He can be reached at 715 967-2119 or 1-800-279-3168. He
does a lot of traveling and it may take him a day or two to return your
      call. It's worth the wait.
      Gene

Looks good, Chris. Beginning to look like an airplane in your garage.

Well, since the list is too quiet I'll post an informational link to an
upcoming fly-in. Corky knows about this one... it's the 23rd annual Flying
      M Ranch Fly-In and Camp-Out, and 15th annual Cub Migration. October 26-28,
Reklaw, Texas. Everybody just calls it "Reklaw" (which is "Walker" spelled
backwards). Grass strip, grassroots. I would go except my wife and I will
be somewhere in the Mediterranean on a cruise about that time. The webpage
with info is at http://www.reklawflyin.com/ and Reklaw is in north-east
Texas south of Tyler. West of Shreveport.

In other news, I just ordered some sectionals so I can have something to do
this winter... plan my route to Brodhead 2008. I need to lay out the stops
and find Piet-friendly folks along the way. Of course my first stop (and
first night) will be in Shreveport, Louisiana where 41CC will be reunited
with its creator (Corky). So besides the San Antonio and Brownsville
sectionals that I always keep updated, I got Houston, Dallas-Ft. Worth,
Memphis, Kansas City, St. Louis, and Chicago sectionals. Should keep me
      busy for a while ;o)

      Hey all

I finally got to fly the new Piet today. That radial engine really has
some kick. The tail comes up quickly and it is very smooth in flight.

A special thanks to all who helped in the building process, especially
the crew at Sun n Fun where the components were build, Skip, P.F. and
      all the others.

Pryor should be pretty close to "on the way" to Brodhead from Shreveport....

Why not stop here and fly along with me?

I actually put the fuse on blocks last night, leveled it up and will attach the
wings and get started on cutting the lift struts to length shortly...dang that
      felt good...

Brodhead next summer just MIGHT be doable!

Hope you two have a great time in the Mediterranean...

      JM in rainy Oklahoma...

      Hey Chris,
Its looks really good sitting on landing gear. You did a great job,
      congratulations!!!
I am still tinkering with building a jig for my landing gear and
cussing steel fittings, but am making headway.
      Cheers, Jim

      PS your smile is great.

      Hi Guys,

I have just arrived back from a two week family visit to the UK. Whilst I
was there I had the pleasure of meeting Alan James and G-BUCO.

G-BUCO is hangared on a grass strip field in the middle of the countryside
and is Pietenpol Heaven (for those not able to get to Brodhead!).

This was the first time I had ever seen a completed Pietenpol other than my
own. It felt very strange looking it over and recognizing every bit of it.

Alan took me for a fly and showed me some of the things that a Piet can do
that I still have to look forward to. It was a bit of a bumpy day but Alan
was well in control and managed a superb sideslip landing across the field
      to end the flight.

      A beautiful day indeed.

      Thanks Alan.

Wow Jim I am impressed! Seems like my according to season schedule of summer
steel has gone into the tank and replaced by all those summer hours chores.
Soon as cooler weather sets in I a back on the build. The good news is that I

got my metal ordered in the process of laser cutting and some of the metal
for the spars and skin is on its way so I'll be back on the build soon too.

Just glad to see youre back at it, I want ot see serious progress, my next
      trip to Oklahoma!

Jim keep up the good work, you never know when someone is gonna bad mouth ya
      behind your back!

      John

      Okay, Pieters;

I'm puzzled. I sure don't claim to know it all with respect to Pietenpols,
but in preparing for a talk that I'm giving on Friday for our flying club at
work, I was reviewing the EAA's webpage on eligible light sport aircraft for
which plans or kits are offered and of course went right down to Pietenpols
      to see what was there.

One was a misspelling ("Sky Scot" instead of "Sky Scout"), but the other was
"B4F Air Camper". I have never until today seen the B4F designation. Can
someone tell me what that stands for?

      Low 'n' slow forever...

      Hmm. B4F....

B-4-Flying Comes Making Money. Would you like a Gator with that Mustang order?

Sky Scot....I wonder what a Piet covered in Grade A Tartan would weigh?

Excellent, I hadn't seen this video before. Our landing wasn't quite so
spectacular to watch but just as much fun!!!
