Jack, I'm married and have been using appliance epoxy (the spray cans available at most hardware stores) and baking it for about 20 minutes in our kitchen oven. There might be some odor but it's pretty minimal. My wife who has a sense of smell on par with a bloodhound has never complained. I must admit timing my "culinary experiments" for right about the time she leaves the house for a while. There is a big difference in the hardness of the paint between baking and unbaked. Unbaked I can scratch it with my nail, baked I cannot. Douwe

Douwe, While I realize you no doubt intended it as a compliment, you're a brave man to refer to any of your wife's attributes as being on par with a bloodhound. You're likely brave enough to buy her appliances for her birthday. :) Bill C. Do Not Archive -----Original Message----- --> <douweblumberg@earthlink.net> ... John, I think you have violated the trust and respect of the whole Pietenpol community by making this offer. You will now have to be shunned from this list for 6 months, you will not be allowed to attend Brodhead for three years (unless you fly your Pietenpol there), and you will have to give up your Verizon Wireless BlackBerry for a year. I'm sorry but we must do this for you own good. Don't worry about Dick, I just sent him an email offering to send him a copy of my GN-1 plans. He already had a set of plans and I will never build from mine so I think its safe. If not, he will just be keeping my backup copy, which you can make legally, in case anything happens to the originals. When I bought my GN-1 plans in 1998, they were only $25. Mr. Grega was defiantly not making any money on the plans. Forgive the spam, please, but I'm trying to help out an old friend. Some of you may know Larry Cowell of Tucson. (He tells me he's given rides to 300 people, some of which I'm sure went on to build a plane themselves.) Larry, a P-51 pilot from WWII, built his Piet in 1976, using a Lyc O-145-B2. For health reasons, Larry now finds it necessary to sell his nifty red airplane. You can get all the details and see pictures and contact info at http://www.nixiebunny.com/pietenpol/ Thanks, -- Tom Sargent, Tucson
