the plans, or at least the articles on converting the Model A show the
mixture wired full rich. I have never seen anyone install a control,
and cannot think of a reason to do so.

Subject: Pietenpol-List: Model A mixture control
Hi, Guys,
Have any of you installed a mixture control on your Piet's Model A
engine? With the engine turned 180 degrees from what it would be in a
car, I can't figure out how to rig a control that will adjust the
mixture from the Piet's cockpit. Any thoughts or recommendations would
be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
John Smoyer

Looks like ultra-light gear to me. Only three lugs and I don't see any size
or load rating listed. Remember that you are building an AIRPLANE which is
going to weigh probably three times what an ultralight would. When you rea
lly "plant" a landing or hit with a little crab, you don't want a wheel to
break up like one did several years ago at OSH.......in front of thousands
of spectators!!

Those LEAF brakes might be worth investigating a little closer, though.

Hey guys,
Are there enough flying Corvairs west of the Rockies to dominate this event?
http://www.contactmagazine.com/Roundup.html
I usually have a Corvair forum there each year, but it sure would be nice to
see several flying examples this time. I've spoken with William about
attending and it's not out of the question, but he might have a scheduling
conflict. It sure would be nice to get William out this way when it's not at
or below freezing. :)
I'm sure we can count on at least Rick Lindstrom to fly his award-winning
601 to the event, anyone else?

Also on the turnbuckle topic; has anyone replaced the piano wire on the tail
with cable and turnbuckles?
What size cable and what size turnbuckles?
Thanks

Pietenfolk,
I'm building the one piece wing. Which turnbuckles (AN numbers) do I
get for the inside of the wing?
Also, I'd like to read any opinions anyone has on these wheels-tires-breaks:
