Hey Mark! I caught my self literally smiling all through the first video as I listened to your son chatting about your wife's flight in XN17WR, and realized I had been smiling through the whole thing... Funny how people across the world will sit an watch something like this with rapt attention, while we can't get our own family to watch the pictures of our vacation! Guess it's something called 'Strong common interest', and the desire to live out our own dreams through the eyes of someone else, since many of us can't get to the event for what ever reason... Thanks for sharing. Now I'm off to watch video 2... :o) Mark On Sun, Jul 26, 2009 at 7:32 PM, K5YAC <hangar10@cox.net> wrote: > > My family and I made our first trip to Brodhead this weekend and had a > great time. OK, so there were only 2 entrants in the Unlimited Class - the other was a Glasair III which averaged 243 mph. But hey, N8031 averaged 72.2 over 448 miles with 3 fuel stops! Not bad! ;-) -- Dan Yocum Fermilab 630.840.6509 yocum@fnal.gov, http://fermigrid.fnal.gov Fermilab. Just zeros and ones.

Just found this forum the other day while looking for Piet stuff. I started building an Aircamper back in 2000. I had the fuse nearly done when things in life took a turn. I ended up scrapping that fuse, a decision I regret to this day. :x So.....I'm about to start again. Just need to get the garage cleaned out. Hey all=2C I want to thank all who I talked to at Brodhead about your planes - great p ilot fellowship. I was only able to be there for about 4 hours on Saturday due to the people I was with getting "bored". Next time I'll be going mys elf for sure - others don't get it. Thanks to Dick Navratril for the offer of a ride - I wish I would have been there long enough to take you up on i t. It was great to see Greg Cardinals airplane in person after seeing it a num ber of years ago in the construction phase. Dale and Greg's handiwork is h ard to beat. There was a green Piet there with fabric covered wheels. I didn't get a ch ance to talk to the owner but I'd love some info on how the wheels were don e. Great looking airplane. I'm getting my spar material in a few weeks so the wing will formally be un der construction soon. Again - great event! Most Piets I've ever seen there. Thanks to all who flew in! Hans, What carbureter do you have on your Corvair, and how has your Corvair installation been working? I hope you'll be able to get your plane to Brodhead sometime. I look forward to seeing it in person. John Fay in Peoria
