Bleed-off some of the exhaust gasses, back into the inside of the stab and elevators. The energy released out the seaplane grommets will be worth at least 20 or 30 lbs. more thrust!! Happy Thanksgiving to all!!! Dan Helsper Poplar Grove, IL. do not archive

OOooo Oscar - you're such a kidder! do not archive >>> Oscar Zuniga <taildrags@hotmail.com> 11/24/2009 10:05 PM >>> I was very concerned about the drain grommets on 41CC when I first started flying it. I noticed that when the airspeed would get close to 75-80 MPH indicated, I'd look out at the underside of the wing trailing edges and the bottom of the wing fabric would begin bellying towards the trailing edges as the venturi suction past the seaplane grommets created a vacuum inside the wing. The reshaping of the wing would shift the center of pressure forward such that the pitching moment moved aft, until the airplane would pitch up and no amount of forward stick would control the airplane. I would immediately slow the airplane to avoid an uncontrollable, deadly condition and the airplane was an unmanageable beast. Then I'd wake up, shake myself, pull the blankets up, and go back to sleep ;o) Folks, don't worry about drain grommets. Happy Thanksgiving, Pietenpolers. Friends, all. do not archive Oscar Zuniga Air Camper NX41CC San Antonio, TX mailto: taildrags@hotmail.com website at http://www.flysquirrel.net
