Thanks Gary I knew you would like it when I wrote that there is poplar in them! I also made the leading and trailing edges from poplar. I didn't write in the other post that I cut the red oak and pecan down and hauled it home and sawed into boards on my homemade sawmill. The wood has been cut over 25 years. I made mine of solid Douglas Fir. Or as I prefer to think of it, pieces of God's natural laminates. So far, so good. But of course, mine is a long way from moving beyond the confines of the hangar. Ken On Wed, Dec 29, 2010 at 10:24 AM, Jeff wilson <jlwilsonnn@yahoo.com> wrote: > I'm starting to wonder. Just got home from lunch in Sacramento with Pat and Mary Hoyt from Minneapolis, arranged by Gary Boothe, and wanted to thank Gary for putting it together. It was great to see Pat and the rest of the crank-busters again and to meet his delightful wife Mary. Several of the bunch are planning on being in Brodhead this year, along with Pat and Mary, so I look forward to seeing everyone again there. People keep asking when I'll get the engine together, so to avoid further humiliation, I'm setting the goal of Brodhead this year, although I won't be flying it back. If not, I suppose I'll have to buy beer for everyone to make amends. Thanks to Jim Boyer for picking me up and driving. Darrel Jones Pfeifer Sport Sonoma, CA
