Why most metal fittings do not fit after bring made is largely do to the incorrect
bend allowance for a given thickness when laid out in the flat. Also the I
found that if you copy the fittings from the drawing you will find fit errors.
I have started a 3D CAD Model of the Pietenpol for a full set of highly detailed
plans, down to the fittings in the flat. Set to be finished end of this year.

as for the oil pressure I'm pretty sure you would be losing a fair amount if the
hole is left open. why could you not make a stub shaft or eve a hollow tube-the
diameter of the old shaft welded to the cover plate just long enough to fill
the bushing and stop that loss? Raymond

Yes, I have a few bubble levels, digital angle meter, etc. They all do well
for this application.

John:
There is a section on warranty and repairs on the XCOM website. (see link
below)
http://www.mcp.com.au/xcom760/warranty/warranty.html
This link also contains contact information for technical support and
avionics service. A USA phone number is also on this page for us "up
over" types. Luckily I haven't had to use any of this information yet.

Anyone have any info on repair for this radio.? As some may know, NARCO
used to do it but went out of business. I was told not to ship it back to
Australia.

Jerry,
It looks great. Keep up the good work.
I'll be out of touch for three weeks. I'll be on an RV trip. No, not a plane,
a 5th wheel. I'll catch up on all the news when I return.
Happy Landings,

Hi womenfly2.....yes I agree with what your saying and look forward to seeing what
you came up with. Surely if someone could make the metal parts in bulk it
would have to be cheaper as you would get a better deal when buying materials
in bulk. Obviously labour is added to that but someone like me who is time poor
due to family commitments, I would rather buy these parts ready made and get
flying sooner than struggle through wasting time sourcing materials and doing
it etc. Its a fine line and judging by other responses here, im not the only
one.
Even supplying the parts flat and undrilled so each individual can bend and drill
what needs bending and drilling to fit their own project.
As an example, the prices I obtained for 4130N are as much as $45 a sq/foot here
in Australia. How does that compare with the USA?
