I am assuming only 1/8" on each side to retain the 1/2" center. That seems kind of futile to remove so little material, but it saves a little weight. -------- Curt Merdan Flower Mound, TX Do Not Archive Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=382296#382296 ________________________________ Message 4 _____________________________________ Time: 09:39:37 AM PST US From: "Jack Phillips" Subject: RE: Pietenpol-List: Spar Routing That's what I did, Curt. I only did it on the rear spar, leaving the front spar a full 3/4". I cannot even get the correct picture of my bad photos to show how I added 2 ' to the lifting wing surface by lowering the radiator, or raising the engine a couple inches to be able to get to the end of the crank for my gear reducer starter , and show the fuel injectors on the intakes, and no carburetor , The all SS intake and exhaust is fuzzy but you will be required to use your imagination, I guess, How about that crank extension's thrust bearing housing, that I borrowed from a Funk engine, I cannot show any-one the inside of a very powerful B Ford engine that is swinging a 76" X 47" Sensenich Prop , with a standard tapered shaft and hub, at 2250 RPM. "Enough Lowell". As you will not see this Piet at Brodhead again until those Doctors that say it is OK to fly my love of life.
