I got an invite to Emeraldcoast Aviation's open house/fly-in at KCEW so I flew over yesterday. I was not expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. Near 50 airplanes flew in. I forgot my camera so no pictures :( There were only 3 experimentals there, the rest being mostly Piper and Cessna. An immaculate J-3, a very nice Tri-pacer and a couple of Aeronca Champs. For the ones that remember the TV series "SKY KING" and his Songbird there was a 1956 Cessna 310 there that is beyond my description. It was painted black, fully restored from nose to tail. It had all steam gauges recently rebuilt. Guess what. My Piet was parked close by and they all came over to see the Piet! A crew of onlookers around it all afternoon. -------- Jerry Dotson First flight June 16,2012 Started building July, 2009 Lycoming O-235 C2C Jay Anderson CloudCars prop 76 X 44 do not archive Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=386717#386717

Seems that there was some formatting or encoding in Gary's message that the Forum importer didn't like and bombed out on. I took the original message and clean up some of the headers and then resubmitted it to the Fourm importer and it worked as expected: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?t=93484 I'm not sure exactly what's causing the importer to crap out. Thanks Matt! I've noticed that this has occurred several times in the past weeks/months where I see comments on a topic that are in response to a post that isn't available on the web. Sometimes the original post is included in the reply and I can catch up that way, but often it's not, which leads me to believe that some of us are missing parts of conversations that we didn't even know occurred. Are there any pointers you can give us on proper formatting that might help, or is it just the way that certain some clients are handling outgoing messages, and perhaps out of the users control? -------- Mark Chouinard Wings, Center Section and Empannage and Fuse framed up - Working on Landing Gear Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=386746#386746

Actually, yes, there is some configuration that users can do to grease the process. Most email clients allow you to configure the type of encoding that is used when sending the messages. Two of the most common are "Plain-Text" and "HTML". These days, by default, most clients will send BOTH a Plain-Text and an HTML version of the message within the body. MIME is used to wrap these two versions up and the receiving client picks which version it wants to view. When posting messages to the Lists and Forums, its always better, faster, and more reliable to send JUST the Plain-Text version. Generally you can go into your email client and select how Sent messages are encoded. Select just "Plain-Text". This will make posts the Lists and Forums a LOT cleaner and work much more smoothly. Jack, great looking parts and nice oven. I've had my control horns and cabane fittings powder coated at a local coating company and it wasn't cheap! I'd love to do the rest of my parts on my own. Can you give us the Readers Digest condensed version of your set-up for the oven as well as the application of the powder coating material? When I remodeled our kitchen, the old oven went out to the garage and is now used for powder coating small parts. Even did my Corvair block in it. Works just dandy. Got the powder from Eastman as they have an excellent selection of colors. Sears cheepie powder gun. Voila. Now those long parts are a different story.... Will be interested in what Jack did as well. Well, I managed to get a couple of flights in today. One this morning and a nice short sunset flight. It was a beautiful evening. Took off and climbed to 1000agl so I could cruise around over the town and then when out over th e farm fields. I did a nice hard slip to get me low, and enjoyed what Piete npol flying is all about. I returned to the airport and did two nice wheel landings to end the day. I'm now at 22.6 hours of flight time, and I'm exci ted to get the remainder of my forty hours in so I can share the experience w ith my wife, father and daughter. Gary, yes the front cover makes a big difference and keeps my legs warmer on these cool California evenings. I think it was only in the 70's today. I still need to finish mine by stitching around the perimeter but the main part is complete. I've started on one for the rear to keep the dust out.... and rain too if I fly it out of California.
