Merry Christmas everyone; trying to figure on the best way to fasten an aluminum fuel tank to the center section. Are builders using tabs that go across top of spars? If so, are cutouts made in the leading edge ply to access the nut, bolt, screw that would be used? Are straps being used? I think i'm leaning this way, having the strap go around both spars and tighten the two ends on the aft side of the aft spar. what do you think, any better ideas to consider? pics would be great also. I used stainless steel straps under the tank, as per Tony Bingelis. Working in the shop on the tail grouping today, yet my thoughts this time of year are especially of the Pietenpol PEOPLE. May you all be at a good place in your lives and have a great year ahead..... -------- Jake Schultz - curator, Newport Way Air Museum (OK, it's just my home) Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=390867#390867
