I lost a former coworker in a beech -18 that would have probably been survivable if our employer had opted to install shoulder harnesses. I copied it from another Piet I had seen at Brodhead. They work very well and can be removed easily. Wish I had had these dimensions before I started because I was copying a poorly homemade set that was already on this engine. I believe the Bingelis books show diagrams or sketches of those baffles and they aren't hard to make up of scrap aluminum, springs, and a piece of welding rod or wire. I copied the British design except the aft legs on mine are not adjustable. Anyone considering a similar design will need to spend extra time placing instruments as the shoulder harness brace takes allot of space in the instrument housing, where there is not much space to begin with. Very elegant lady, and so nice. They were kind enough to care for a Ford Ranger pickup that I bought in Atlanta for a couple of weeks until I could go retrieve it. Such nice folks. When Scout had the A65 on it, there were no intercylinder baffles on it and I didn't give it a second thought. However, I began to hear (and read) more about them and their importance to cooling the full perimeter of the cylinders so when I swapped from the 65 to the 75, I installed some. The ones on my engine are right out of Wag-Aero (I believe), and come as a small kit with four aluminum pieces, a couple of bent stiff wire pieces, and a couple of springs to hold the baffles in place. Pretty simple stuff, and I can certainly see what they do to route cooling air from the eyebrows on top, down between and under the jugs. You can easily make the parts using the information that Mikee and others have posted here, or you can make them from the patterns that Tony Bingelis includes in his books. I'm sure a picture will be worth more than thousands of keystrokes, so maybe someone will post pictures of how the baffles actually appear when they are in place.
