I'm planning on flying up in my Stinson Voyager. Leaving on Wednesday morning
from Mineola Wisener (3F9), but will stop off at St. Louis to spend a day and
pick up my Son. We plan to depart Creve Coeur (1H0) on Friday morning direct
to Brodhead. Let me know if this fits in your schedule or flight scheme. Hope
      to see you there.

Robert, since you mentioned a Stinson, now I can tell you my story about the one
      that got away.

In 1992 I was working in Dalhart, Texas. I went out to the airport to see what
was going on and who rented airplanes. There was no flight school and no one renting,
but the Lineboy mentioned that a part owner of a pretty Stinson Stationwagon
had died and the family was trying to sell his half. When I saw the plane,
it was awesome. It had been restored to prize winning status including an
engine overhaul. I got the number and tried to contact the family. Never was able
to get hold of them. Finally, I gave up.

Later, I found out that it sold. The other partner told the family that they could
do what they wanted but his half of the plane was staying right there in Dalhart.
As a result there were no offers. Finally, a local rancher bought 1/2
of the plane for $2,500 so that his wife could learn to fly.

      The one that got away.

Will see you there Ken, will get there on Saturday and am staying in Monroe
(yes in a hotel, I am too much of a wimp to handle the rain and bugs in a
tent). Am looking forward to that pork chop dinner.

Model-A drivers, does your engine stumble if you add throttle quickly? (Sounds
like the beginning of an advertisement) My engine is being broken in and in
the past it would quit if I closed the throttle quickly (friction) but Im at that
magical point of 20 hours and thats gone, however, I still suffer from a bad
stumble if I add power quickly. Anyone else work through this already?

      Thanks in advance.
