I know I will have to make up a new set of struts that angle from the leading edge to the firewall but what else is typical? Is there enough slop in the other fittings or do they have to be adjusted? Should I expect to make new wires or is there generally enough range of adjustment in the turnbuckles to accommodate a move of up to two inches? How are the aileron control wires affected? All the wires should adjust just fine, and the attach brackets able to allow for the move. FYI...mine are slanted back 4". The aileron cables get moved back,so those holes may need to be enlarged. I had to remake one of my cabane cross brace wires to make it work. I have a steel structure for mounting the passenger shoulder harnesses, so I had to add some pulleys to keep the aileron cables from rubbing. They have what APPEARS to be a nice WWII replica of a german flying helmet in brown and black and the price is good. I bought one (can never have enough!) but haven't seen it yet so can't vouch for quality. Based on the comments, sizing is small so read the comments carefully if you get one. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/german-military-style-leather-aviator- helmet.aspx?a'1636 Douwe ________________________________ Message 10 ____________________________________ Time: 09:08:03 PM PST US From: Ray Krause Subject: Re: Pietenpol-List: leather flying helmet Thanks, Douwe, I ordered one.
