One thing's for sure, he'll never have to refuse the fat lady. :-) One day, though, he may regret the shortness of cabane and that solidness of wing. We do, after all, become less limber with age. The pics are the latest taken but it's now completed and varnished. I'm waiting on an AS&S order of nuts and bolts. Some work to do on the hinge itself. Then on to the right panel. The T-88 will not stick to it and it is see through. I was buying marine plywood and hardwood for an engine mount in a Pietenpol and a couple guys in the lumberyard were familiar with the Pietenpol. They new a guy in the Minneapolis-St Paul area who had a Pietenpol with a modified inverted Ford Falcon six cylinder engine. It flew successfully for a number of years. It was built by Russ Stewart and was originally licensed as an Oregon homebuilt and carried one of the metal Oregon aircraft license plates. In 1948, it was registered by the CAA as an experimental. It is believed that this was the first aircraft in the country registered in the experimental category. If anyone has any information regarding this plane, I would appreciate hearing from you.
