It doesn't include a piece of pine or whatever you want to make top front of fin
( curved/carved). Most importantly, no practice pieces!... Um, someone told
me..

Subject: | Re: Handheld Radio, Portable Intercom... |
My first flights will probably have me using my ICOM 21 with the headset
plugged directly into it. I will pursue an intercom later. My headset is a
Lightspeed 20. It is an older model but works great.
Question for the peanut gallery. During my last move we misplaced the
charger for my ICOM 21. the battery is 13.2 volt 1100mAh. I have several
chargers that will fit it but they are
12.0 volt and 0.5A
12 VDC and 800mAh
and 12VDC 750mAh
Is it a problem to use these chargers on this battery?

I would definitely study the plans and determine on your own what you need. Non
aviation doug fir is another option. I saved a boat load of money grading the
wood on my own. Must sure be nice to have a AS&S nearby though.

Yes, it is ;o)
But more to the point: I live in Douglas fir country (Oregon). I can get as much
as I want, in whatever quality I want, very inexpensively (or even free).
I like working with it, although it has its drawbacks. For spars or planks, I
will use fir. For smaller pieces, drilling straight holes in it parallel to
the grain is difficult because the lines between the grains are hard and they
deflect the drill bit. It splinters easily, too, so you have to be very careful
when sawing it or the cuts will splinter instead of cutting clean.
However, the main thing is that the tail is where you want the airplane to be as
light as possible, and fir weighs more than spruce when you're using the same
size pieces. For as little as you need to build the tail pieces, use spruce.
If you build the tail heavy, your airplane will be dragging it around for the
rest of its life. I should know; I'm known as "tail drags" ;o) My other project
is an M-19 Flying Squirrel and almost every piece of wood in it is fir.
This is how I know about the love/hate relationship with fir.
