Well said...
It is truly unfortunate that UNcivil discourse has become the norm in our society.
On this day, I'm thankful that there are a few bastions like this list that
treasure civility.
My contribution went in two weeks ago...

On many props, they simply add some additional paint or varnish rather than drill
into the material. Very easy to add weight while it's in the balance jig.

I have only heard of adding paint/varnish also. Seems like you would have to add
or subtract a bunch of weight at the hub vs varnish near the tip. Less invasive
too. Not to say drilling holes or adding lead weights is not a common practice.
Happy Thanksgiving

Not an expert on this subject but I also have slept at a Holiday Inn Express.
I would suggest you get a copy of Eric Clutton's book, " Propeller Making for
the Amateur." One example he demonstrates is using lead weights to correct a
lateral imbalance. This may be considered when adding varnish to the leading
edge of one blade and the trailing edge of the other does not correct the out
of balance propeller. His book demonstrates how to balance a wood prop and how
to determine where to locate the weight if necessary. Very good explanation
with drawings. Good Luck!

Subject: | Corvair College 28 |
Hellooooo Good People,
It has been a while since I have been on the list. I wanted to stop by to wish
you all a happy Thanksgiving.
I also want to let you all know that the registration for Corvair College 28, hosted
by Kevin Purtee and I is now officially open. The dates for the event are
28 Feb 2014 - 01 March 2014, in San Marcos Texas.
If you have chosen the Corvair for your powerplant, and are still in the process
of building, I hope you take this opportunity to bring it down, and complete
it at CC28. Kevin and I were able to rebuild our engine and run it at Barnwell
SC (CC24) last November.

Hope to see you all soon!!
