Shelley & I in front of Douwe's exquisite sculpture at the 9/11 memorial. Be glad
when it's out from behind the fence. The photo doesn't do it justice.

FBG Update: Covering and getting ready to spray. Shelley has to get her tear drop
trailer out of the garage first. Also need to finalize the engine installation
and make the cowl for that.

Okay, so I'm a little slow these days. Been working nights and weekends to keep
up at my day job. However, I wanted to say that there is no comparison between
the tail hinge fittings that Dave McBride has made and the Vi Kapler style
hinges that I now make and sell using Vi's jigs and castings. Knowing now what
it takes to produce a set of these hinges by hand, I see a lot of work in Dave's
hinges. I do have two questions though, Dave. (1) How come you have 10
hinges? A typical set has 3 per control surface. A spare-? (2) Have you weighed
a set of hinges, and how much do they weigh? I'm curious to know because
      yours look pretty beefy.

By the way, I have managed to finish and send out two sets of hinges from the new
run of castings. Thanks to everyone who asked for a set... I'm getting them
out slowly. I think Bill Budgell and John Hofmann (or was it John Recine?)
are next in line. If anyone is dead in the water unless you get hinges to keep
you going on your build, let me know. Otherwise, I'll keep the normal Pietenpol
pace, which is "Low And Slow Since 1929".
