Congratulations to you and Andy!...and, I wouldn't call that an ugly
landing. The important thing is what happens after the first bounce, and you
did great! I was disappointed, though, to see that you edited out the
inverted ribbon cut...

I've mentioned that I've been coaching a friend and colleague in tailwheel
technique in my Air Camper. He does a better job than me! So, time to let
him loose!

Jeff,
I make landings in my Piet like that. I thought that was the way you do it. I flew
this morning. Going to fly again right now.

I, too, just got done with a hop, and landed like that. In the Piet, it's cool,
feels about right. The -88 however... Not so much.
What a cool give and take community you live in there! Awesome.
Is that the same Pitts we see attacking you all the time?

Opened my eyes at 6:30 Saturday morning and though cloudy, it was perfectly
calm and temperate. I knew the clouds were gonna break as the day
progressed so I hopped up, made a cup of tea, clothed and was at the airport
by 7:00. In the air by 7:20 for one of the most delightful flights I've
had. Nothing special, but the air was cool and smooth and "RE-PIET" just
wanted to climb like there was no tomorrow. Turned towards the house as the
sun started finding holes in the clouds and flew around the house over Marci
and she was having her coffee on the deck. Landed by 7:45 and was home by
8:10 to start the day.
Keep building, it's really worth it.

Hey Jeff,
It looks like your camera mount is a pole affixed to both struts. What is
all the tape on the trailing edge for, steadying?
I sure like the view it gives.

Just spent a half hour in the basement dodging tornadoes. I thought I left
that behind in the Texas Panhandle and northwest Oklahoma.
