Should I glue the 1/8" plywood to the outside forward section of the fuselage like
shown on the Pietenpol home site before assembling the 2 sides together? pros
and cons?

I did. Many don't but I didn't see any problem with gluing it on, and it's
much stronger.

The disadvantage to gluing the side sheeting on early in the game is that your
access into the fuselage will be limited. This will become more of an issue when
you start trying to fit and install the seats and control system, since you
will only be able to access the space through the top (assuming you have installed
the floor as well.
Many builders opt to postpone the installation of the side sheeting as long as
possible, in order to retain as much access as possible during the construction
process.

I agree with Bill. Had I installed the plywood sides before assembly of
the fuselage I would have had a bear of a time installing my rudder pedals
and brake master cylinders. My fuselage was plenty strong without the
plywood sides. Chuck
