| Subject: | Dick Navratil's Sky Scout Project |

We are helping Dick Navratil's wife sell his Sky Scout project.

It consists of an uncovered fuselage, wing ribs, spars, center section, landing
gear components, uncovered tail section, struts, some shorter streamlined 4130
pieces, windshield, and an aluminum fuel tank which needs completing.

      Photographs are here: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B4cC-VS26BffflV3b1BoS1dvOGlxTUJhRTdyWEp1ZE8yNndCeW1DQklpeDZkYVNaMUhQbU0&usp=sharing

Upon viewing these photographs you will have as much information as is available,
without conducting a personal inspection yourself.

There are no instruments or firewall-forward components. The engine has already
been spoken for by a local EAA chapter member.

The type of glue used in this project is unknown.

Dick had said that he wanted to put this aircraft on floats, however we did not
see any floats in the hangar. The drawings for the floats had been loaned to
Dick, and these have been located and will shortly be on their way back to their
      rightful owner.

The project resides in a locked hangar in another city, thus I do not have physical
access, nor will I be able to answer questions. However I, or other members
of our EAA chapter could help coordinate a visit for someone who is *seriously*
      interested in this.

As to the question of "How much money?" - I would be happy to bring any reasonable
offer to Dick's wife for consideration. Use your best judgement in making
an offer. The project should be considered as an "as is, where is" project,
and a new owner would be responsible for transporting it.

      Thanks,

      Patrick Hoyt

      White Hats:

Skip Gadd has volunteered to be the white hat man for those who fly their Pietenpol
      to the show.

Special thanks to Rob Busch for his work on the forum schedule this year and his
      eloquent wordsmithing below.

      Member Service Pavilion:

The member service pavilion will be a picnic table located in the open shelter.
All manner of assistance will be provided - provided that you do not need too
much assistance. Walk around, say hello to people, and you will eventually find
us. You may renew your membership for one year, your friend's membership for
two years, and your enemies' membership for three years. Several times each
year we will torment them by sending them a newsletter; thus reminding them of
how wonderful a person that you are.

BPA members who have commented on the production schedule of the newsletter may
also submit electronic copies of all the articles they have written for future
issues of the newsletter at this location.

      Seminar Schedule (Tentative):

Pietenpol Sheet Metal 11-12:00 Ken Perkins

Model A Magic 1-2:30 Ken Perkins

      Corvair Engines 3-4:30 William Wynne

You Ain't Nuthin' But a Grega TBA Elvis Presley

Additionally, we will be sponsoring a Silent Auction. We welcome any items that
the members have prepared and wish to donate. We will be donating all proceeds
to Chapter 431 in appreciation for their efforts as hosts of the fly-in. Please
contact Rob Busch to drop off your auction items when you arrive.

Finally, in cooperation with Chapter 431 we have installed an ultra-modern anonymous
complaint/suggestion management system this year. There will be a row of
'complaint booths' located near the open shelter adjacent to one of the hangar
walls. Upon entering one of the booths - simply secure the door behind you.
This will initiate the process. You will notice a large open 'sound catcher' at
about knee level. Bend over and place your mouth over the opening. In order
to ensure a high quality digital recording please get your head as far down into
the opening as you can. The improved acoustics will be immediately noticeable.
Then slowly present your complaint or suggestion in your normal speaking voice.
DO NOT REMOVE YOUR HEAD FROM THE ACOUSTIC CHAMBER OPENING WHILE SPEAKING!!
AGAIN, the more completely your head is enclosed in the acoustic chamber, the
clearer your recording will be. Upon leaving the booth your complaint/suggestion
will be logged with a digital timestamp. If yo!
u wish to receive credit and acknowledgement for your opinion in a future newsletter,
simply use your index finger to trace your initials and BPA member number
onto the urn-shaped oval touch pad located on the left wall of the booth before
opening the door. Note that this feature is only available in the new generation
booths. In the older booths you need to insert your finger into the blue
ink reservoir and the bottom of the acoustic chamber and sign your name on
the surface. Electronic sensors will record your information in either case. Several
times over the weekend Data Transport Vehicles will arrive on scene. They
will link to the booths and download your complaints and suggestions. We have
been assured that the mental energies of our most vocal members will be carefully
treated and put to good use.

The standard plans show gusset plates on the inside of struts 1 and 3 on the fuselage
sides. The extended fuselage plans do not show those 2 gusset plates. Are
they required on the extended fuselage?

Harvey, those plate do go on the extended fuse as well.
They are shown on my plans, looks like they are 21 1/2" long by 5 3/4" high

I should have been more clear. I mean on the bottom inside at struts 1 and 3. Two
individual gusset plates 2-1/4 by about 2-1/4 and 2-1/4 by about 3.
