Sounds good Scott!
Always wondered what Fox field was out there in the desert. You drive past
my ex ranch all the time, just off the Sand Cyn exit on the wash there.

Anyone that has left the bottom of their fuselage flat, did you put the bol
ts in for things like rudder pedals or landing gear then cover over the bol
ts? Or did you cover the flat bottom then put those bolts in through the fa

I left mine flat. I covered and then stuck the bolts through after. This g

Keith, consider adding a large belly access panel on the rear fuselage
about 1/2 way back from the seat back to the tailwheel. The cables for the
rear wheel come through this hole. It is basically a hole in the
fabrick Simply framed in with wood thick enough to run screws into. NO
FRAME IS TAKEN OUT. Two pieces of frame cross the open area, one directly
across the other diagonal. I can basically stick my head in one hole and
my arm in another. Makes access to the rear much easier. I covered it with
very thin aluminium flashing from the aviation department at Lowes. This
flashing came painted white and in a roll about 20 yards long and 24 inches
wide. It will cut with sturdy scissors or I used a sharp knife and a
straight edge. It creases easily. It was cheap enough that I used it to
practice with and make the first bad template and then made the second that
I used. I covered the.
Poor photos attached. Please ignore the temporary pulley. It was replaced
with a fairlead.
Blue Skies,
Steve D

Hey,
A long time ago someone here told me about a website where you could chart
your cross country flight and then print it in small kneeboard sized
sections with your route marked on it. I used it, it was great but can't
remember it now.
Does anyone know this site??
Thanks
Douwe

OK. Measure 1/2 the length of the prop. Use this figure from the center
line of the center section and measure out that length on the wing. Go one
more rib for the 1/2 spacing. Is that confusing? Chuck

It was Aeroplanner, which used to be free to EAA members. Unfortunately
they stopped offering it as a free service and last month they went out of

Oh yeah my belly has a keel.
I always have better ideas later. My access cover is made with a sheets of
thin aluminum riveted and with fairings creased in for the tailwheel
cables. At some later date after is is test flown or maybe at next years
condition inspection, I will put a single sheet on with longer and prettier
fairings. Simpler too.
To reiterate. You are simply replacing cloth with a cover. Perhaps saran
wrap will do. Or zippers! LOL.
Stay light my friend.

Chuck,
Thanks! Nope, that is very clear. I started punching holes for the stitching
today and went out three ribs from the center section with 2.5" spacing. Th
e rest will be 3.5". That's kind of a conglomeration of all the advise I got
from my friends. Since this is a SkyScout with an A-65, I'm planning on a m
ax speed of 125MPH!
Thanks,
Ray
