Thanks Tom. The flight went well except for having to hold back pressure on the
stick. I will try checking and adjusting the horizontal stab before the next
flight.

Thanks Jack.
As I just mentioned to Tom Kreiner, my test pilot did have to apply back pre
ssure on the stick all the time. I have read that Greg Cardinal and Dale Joh
nson had the same problem on their Piet. When they rechecked the rigging on t
he horizontal stab they found it was off slightly. By getting it in trim and
adjusting the tailing cables on top tighter they were able to correct the p
roblem. I will give this a try.

I had the same issue, so I tweaked the horizontal stab by tightening the fro

Attached is a "sketch" of how I plan to mount my tank. It is similar to my understanding
of how the WACO biplanes mount their tanks.
The green is a 1" wide 0.10" thick 4130 strap. The red is the plywood bottom of
the wood center-section.
Fasteners are represented by the "brown" rivets and black bolts.
The purple represents a stainless-steel strap with a turnbuckle to hold the tank
down. I plan to use felt (black lines) below the tank and under the stainless-steel
straps.

Jake, you may have already thought of this. You'll also want a ground wire
between the tank and the structure to keep from getting an untimely spark
while refueling. I wouldn't trust the felt to act as a conductor. Cheers,

The engine. Jake has a welded metal fuselage. So in his case, a ground to
the structure would work, as long as he has a strap from the fuselage to
the engine.

Almost identical to the method I used to mount my tank. Ten years, 350
