His position was that there are a significant number of aircraft, not just Piets, that are poor flyers because they were not rigged properly. As others have said, do it right, take your time, and measure everything twice. The other piece of advice he had from that talk was that if things aren't going right, put your tools away and get a frosty cold one. Mistakes made while frustrated have a tendency to be permanent. Looks like you've got a passenger cockpit door. I see no lift strut X-brace cables or jury struts. Since you've just fitted the wings to the fuselage, does that mean you haven't yet installed the cables and struts? And how strict are the government regulations about adherence to Mr. Pietenpol's plans? Do they permit any deviations? I see that you have the Stearman-style flat windshields, nicely done. Taxi tests soon, eh mate-? -------- Oscar Zuniga Medford, OR Air Camper NX41CC "Scout" A75 power Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=448027#448027 ________________________________ Message 4 _____________________________________ Time: 10:15:25 PM PST US Subject: Re: Pietenpol-List: Re: Wing Heavy From: Peter Johnson Hi Oscar, I fitted the cross braces today. Ill check the rigging next and then do the jury struts. Still got the aileron cables to put some turnbuckles on. Had some fun today putting the cable through the pulleys in the centre section. Oh for small hands. The Govt regs allow for experimental being just that. Quite a few changes can be made before any major restrictions are applied to the Special Certificate of Airworthiness. I have a week off in early November so could have it ready for the paperwork by then. Although Im still waiting for a new prop.
