My brother ground looped his Jr Ace when his pedal broke. Fingerstrap reinforcement would have helped. One example i found on the internet: http://mybearhawk.com/fuselage/pedal6.jpg -------- David Gallagher Zodiac 601 XL-B: flying, 280+ hours now Next project under construction: Finish my father's Aircamper Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=448185#448185 ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 08:34:21 AM PST US From: Semih Oksay Subject: Re: Pietenpol-List: Re: TC Piet progress Very good idea David. I have just edited a Pietenpol Pilot Operating handbook for my Piet. I found it on the Matronics list and it looks very complete. My plane has the Pietenpol wing and has a 65 HP Continental. Where a cub has 60MPH as the standard speed to do most everything: climb, final, engine out, longest range. This manual uses the following: Best angle of climb, 55MPH Best engine out glide 55 MPH Normal Climb Out 65 mph Short Field Takeoff 55 mph Enroute climb Best rate of Climb 65 mph Landing Approach Normal Approach 65 mph Touchdown speed 55 mph Maximum Turbulent Air Penetration Speed 80 mph Maximum Crosswind Velocity 10 mph Engine Failure after takeoff 65 mph Maneuvering speed 1150 lbs 80 mph Maximum Glide 55 mph Precautionary landing With engine power 55 mph Landing without engine Power 55 mph Vs Stall Speed 29 mph Green Arc Normal Operating Range 29-80 mph Yellow Arc Smooth Air Operating 80-100 mph Any thoughts from those already flying?
