I posted some pictures I took from my powered parachute of my town and surrounding area. Someone from the local historical society (not for profit organization) approached me about using my photos in a book they are putting together on the history of the area. I am concerned about the reg that says you can't make money with your aircraft unless you are commercial, but I won't make any money, and it would be used by a not for profit org. Any ideas? Do not archive -------- Jon Jones Ironton, MO Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=456105#456105 ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 08:42:45 AM PST US Subject: Re: Pietenpol-List: aerial photos legality issues- do not archive From: Marcus Zechini Like flying Young Eagles? As long as no profit, I believe ok. (don't even except gasoline) "Donated by" will suffice. Your local FSDO office can give you the answer as well. It's not a big deal. You cannot charge for the airplane, due to it being in the Experimental category. You can charge for you personal services if you have a commercial rating. Otherwise, consider it a donation. Then you are safe all the way around. Hope this helps. -------- Scott Liefeld Flying N11MS since March 1972 Steel Tube C-85-12 Wire Wheels Brodhead in 1996 Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=456118#456118 ________________________________ Message 5 _____________________________________ Time: 12:36:31 PM PST US Subject: Pietenpol-List: Re: aerial photos legality issues- do not archive From: "wheelharp" Thanks everyone. I didn't think it would be a problem if I REALLY didn't accept money. I regularly give people free pictures of their homes...shoot, I am always looking for an excuse to fly! -------- Jon Jones Ironton, MO Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=456119#456119 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other Matronics Email List Services ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Post A New Message pietenpol-list@matronics.com UN/SUBSCRIBE http://www.matronics.com/subscription List FAQ http://www.matronics.com/FAQ/Pietenpol-List.htm Web Forum Interface To Lists http://forums.matronics.com Matronics List Wiki http://wiki.matronics.com Full Archive Search Engine http://www.matronics.com/search 7-Day List Browse http://www.matronics.com/browse/pietenpol-list Browse Digests http://www.matronics.com/digest/pietenpol-list Browse Other Lists http://www.matronics.com/browse Live Online Chat! http://www.matronics.com/chat Archive Downloading http://www.matronics.com/archives Photo Share http://www.matronics.com/photoshare Other Email Lists http://www.matronics.com/emaillists Contributions http://www.matronics.com/contribution ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These Email List Services are sponsored solely by Matronics and through the generous Contributions of its members.
