      Hi,

I've seen lots of mention/details about Brodhead on the FB Piet site. Seems
people have abandoned this list for the most part beginning a year or two
ago when the tone turned negative.

WX permitting, I'll be there with bells on.

Charles, just sip the koolaid! I have looked at the Facebook and it is OK.
face book is easy, BUT I find it quite limited. The pietenpol websites are
      easier to navigate.
Stay on the list! I will have some questions for you and your kind.

I am not an FB fan at all, though I know there are pluses and minuses. FB i
s generally more supportive of multimedia. Email lists tend to have more in
      depth conversations and better archiving.

The forum schedule for the next week's Brodhead Pietenpol Fly-In has been set.

      FORUMS
Scheduled Pietenpol forums on Saturday, July 23 are as follows:

      FLYING THE MODEL A 10:30 a.m.
Ken Perkins Model A powered Piet has made numerous flights to Brodhead and has
given uncounted rides to many lucky passengers. Ken will share his thoughts and
      experience.

THE DILLHOEFER CIRCUS COMES TO TOWN 1:00 p.m.
NX898H is a newly built Ford powered Pietenpol. It has set a new standard as a
purist build. From nose bowl right down to the tail skid, Gene Rambos plane is
loaded with details. Father & Son will discuss the long construction and the
Herculean effort that made his plane the FIRST ARRIVAL for Brodhead 2016 (because
he landed just after Brodhead 2015 ended!)

      CORVAIR FLIGHT ENGINES 2:30 p.m.
William Wynnes popular seminar on Corvair Flight Engines

*Pietenpol Forums at EAA AirVenture 2016*

This is a reminder of the forums being presented to all Pietenpol people
who are going to be at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh on Sunday, July 21 through
      Saturday, July 31.

During the week, two Pietenpol forums will be conducted by Bill Rewey and
Doc Mosher as a team. The first will be on Tuesday, July 26th from 2:30 to
3:45 pm at the Aeroplane Workshop building which is right by the
Homebuilder buildings (same as last year). The subject is =9CPietenp
      ol
      building and flying.=9D

The second forum will be on Friday, July 29th from 1:00 to 2:15 pm at the
same Aeroplane Workshop Building. The subject will again be =9CPieten
      pol
building and flying.=9D We hope to gather a number of friends at eac
      h forum.

As in the past, we expect each of the presenters to describe for beginners,
just what building and flying a Piet really entails. This is planned to be
perhaps 15 minutes each. Then we will open the forum to any questions from
the audience. If several old hands happen to be in the audience (we sure
hope so) we trust that these people would be helpful in discussing the
questions, so people who are newcomers can get to meet and know these
      experienced builders and fliers.

Although not a Power Point program, there will be enough examples of actual
plans and actual updates on paper so the audience can feel and touch what
we are talking about. Handouts will be available. Doc has developed a set
of updates to the plans that also will be available, and his address and
webpages will be provided. With the sporadic publication of the Brodhead
Pietenpol Association newsletter, there seems to be a dearth of
=9Cmembership=9D continuity. We hope that our forums at EAA Ai
      rVenture will
help reconnect the Pietenpol people out there.

Of course, both Bill and Doc will be at Brodhead. We look forward to some
      fun there and at Oshkosh.

| Subject: | Re: Brodhead Calendar of Events - Anyone, Anyone? |

I am on FB but only because my grandsons and a few relatives and friends only communicate
that way. I don't care for it because it's quite fluffy and informal.
It has its benefits, but I much prefer topic-specific email lists and especially
this one. In a manner of speaking, to me interacting on Facebook is like
going to the mall, while interacting on this list is like going to Wicks,
Aircraft Spruce, or Chief Aircraft. Nothing personal, just my own preference.

I've unsubscribed to this list a time or two in the past after getting thrown under
the bus and dragged a block or two down the street under it, but later repented
of my actions because I missed the camaraderie and the information. I'll
probably stay on this list till I'm too senile to remember my login name and
password, even if I sell my Piet (which I'm going to do, pretty soon).

Even though I long ago sold my set of KR2 plans and never even started to build
a KR2, I've been on the KRNet since about 1993, back when my desktop machine
was a PC 80386 clone and I was on dialup. I actually used to know a little bit
of xx86 assembly code and Turbo Pascal ;o) I am still learning something every
week from other KR builders and pilots, and the KR is a relatively middle-aged
airplane (only 42 years old, compared to the Air Camper, which is about 84
      years young now).

Anybody who thinks they don't have anything to learn about an 84 year old airplane
will find out that they do, either shortly after starting to build one or
soon after attempting to fly one. It's fun and it's educational, but it's not
the same as playing Pokmon Go.
