OK, back again!
The first two are the top end. Sorry, no pics of making these.
I cut a slot, fit the fitting into it, drilled the bolt holes, filled
in the slot around the fitting and then covered that with
1/32" ply. The rest are the bottom fittings.
Someone gave me a 1 1/4" 4130 rod. I cut off and machined
the ends, drilled down the center then threaded that for the
7/16X20 forks. Then I cut and machined these oblong to fit
inside the brackets.

>From an Englishman's point of view, FB is a social site and not technical. It's
good to post pictures on and generally chat but that is all.
This site is very valuable due to it's searchable history and format plus it lends
itself to asking/answering questions. Finally it doesn't get bogged down with
all the excesses FB produces.

I don't see how any Pietenpol builder could EVER abandon this list entirely. Becomes
too much a part of your life! And the people! (Well, for the most part...).
I've really been off the build track lately but still need and read the digest
every day.
Although I have some pretty strong feelings about the negative direction some brought
to this list a while back....well....I'm glad that focus is gone.
Sure miss not getting to Brodhead this year!
Hope all are doing well!

I'll be at OSH for a few days and was curious where the Piets typically park on
the field. I'm hoping to see a few and ask a few questions.
Won't be able to make Broadhead.
Thanks,

Hello All,
Since I'm enjoying all the "warmth" (i.e. heat indexes, etc)here at home in
KS instead of at Brodhead this year, would someone kindly do a podcast or
Youtube of the presentations?
Thank you!

Jeff,
I agree with my friend, Jim Boyer. Please keep posting, your videos are outstanding!
I think there will always be folks on any forum who don't respect others and say
unacceptable things...just as in everyday life. Rather than punish ourselves
for such things by avoiding the forum, we should just ignore those who don't
respect us, just as we also do in everyday life.
Don't respond to those outside the decorum of our group and they will just go away.
Their pride requires responses to their rants.
When the good folks stop using our forum, we all suffer because we no longer contribute
to our sport/hobby. The newsletter and this forum are the life blood
of PIETENPOL builders and fliers. I could not have built my Sky Scout without
the help of friends I have made on this forum.
Please don't abandon it!
Thanks,
Ray Krause

reason has always been hit-or-miss wrt to posting my posts!).

Ray, thanks for the kind words. I'm not planning to abandon the list; quite the
contrary. I'm slowly getting the Piet dialed back in, and plan to make more vids
and posts as the weather gets better (summer sucks in the south -- too many
afternoon thunderstorms).

I'm in Albany=2C Oregon close to S12. To bad so far from Brodhead and sout

Mason; I've heard rumors of someone at Albany building a Piet. My friend Dave
Smith lives in Albany, motorcycle rider, airplane builder wannabe, and he mentioned
something about a Piet builder in his area. Have you decided what landing
gear you plan to use, or what engine?

Subject: | Clif's Piet July 2016 |
Three pics of struts in place and one a smattering of my
public at our annual fly in.
General consensus was that I am only allowed to cover it
in clear mylar, like the Lazair. I guess that would make
my Piet the ' Lazy Air' ! :-)
Hmmm, no paint!! :-)
