Chad Wille had a Bleriot at Brodhead, with a LeRhone rotary engine a few years
ago. He flew it about dusk when it was calm. You think a Piet looks slow flying!!

a Bleriot? That would be quite interesting! When I lived down in San Antonio,
a very prolific builder down there built a replica of a Bleriot XI (I believe
it was)... the model that Bleriot used to cross the channel with.

      Douwe,

I have 2 reasons for not posting as often as I used to. The first is that I have
had a slow down in my progress do to family matters taking precedence. The
second is me becoming more timid to ask questions because a couple of people
would scold you for not searching the archives first. The archives are very useful
but they sure take the fun and camaraderie out of discussing your project
with other builders. I belong to an RV (campers) forum and most of the questions
are from newcomers. They are very repetitive but give us an opportunity
to reach out and help them. I made a few very good friends this way. Sending
them to the archives would not of produced the same results.

My engine was a Ford model B. I liked it and it ran great, but it certainly
was heavier, though I can't remember how much. Weight is the enemy when

ok, tech question: where my plug wires exit the plug and begin to bend over,
I'm noticing some of the shielding wires beginning to wear. is there some
sort of spring, or stiff plastic I could slip over this junction to support
      them as they bend over?

*Thank you kindly Jack and I'm so glad you are sticking with your beautiful
      Pietenpol project!!! *
*For those of you who haven't seen the stellar craftsmanship that Jack has
poured into his Pietenpol go to his web site and check out his construction
      photos---this is worth a look-see. *

*I just saw on FB that Dan Helsper (who got weathered in at Oshkosh today)
was handed a notice that he won some kind of an award for his gorgeous
Pietenpol. The awards will be announced Saturday evening. What a
gorgeous Pietenpol and a builder who gladly shares his knowledge and
      expertise. *

*Frank Pavliga and his Dad were the two gents who inspired me to build my
Pietenpol. I couldn't even pronounce Pietenpol when I met Frank but after
two rides and him graciously allowing me to fly Sky Gypsy I was SOLD OUT
      about building my own. *
*18 years later I'm still sold out. *

*Passing on the passion is what this is all about---spreading the appeal of
this marvelous little affordable and wonderfully proven homebuilt design!*
