Subject: | Re: Gasket Shellac??? |
Tom, I used Loctite Aviation Gasket Sealant, available at auto parts stores, and
silk thread when I rebuilt my Continental A-65. No leaks after 2 years and 80
hours. Just a very thin coat does it. It was a translucent coat - I could see
metal through it.

for Subaru? The Subaru factory guys swear by it, and it's apparently outstanding
for eliminating leaks at the crankcase flange split, as well as anywhere
else a sealant can be used. Impervious to gas, oil, steam, etc., and remains flexible
forever. (Silicone based)

using it?
