Those flying with an externally mounted antenna. Where did you mount your antenna?
How is the reception? Do you have a panel mounted radio or hand held? Any
photos of antenna mounting would be appreciated.

      Thanks.

For anyone interested, the Jeepenpol has flown! Only a short take off and 10
minute flight followed by a decent landing, but a personal milestone for me.
In about 20 days it will be three years since I cut the first wood for the
rudder. I had thought I could do it in two years but life has a way of changing
our plans. I know there had been previous discussions about the possibility
of using the jeep engine, both pro and con, probably more con than pro.
I don't know if proves much except it will fly. When the wind conditions are
better I will do more testing and tweaking . Hopefully I will have a video
available later and I will try to post a picture that a friend took. The
windy morning made the flight and un-known traits just a little nerve wracking,
but it did quiet well with very little trim issues. It did seem under-powered
until I started to land, then it didn't seem to want to stop flying, so
maybe I didn't have the feel for the plane,(and the airspeed ind, wasn't right
      showing 20 mph) More later

      Harv,

I have my antenna mounted in the centre section. The antenna has its own gr
ound plane which protrudes below the centre section. I installed the antenna
on the same side as the bracing wires so as to not get disturbed when the p
assenger gets in the front seat.

The radio is also in the centre section as seen in the pictures.

I had a lot of problems with feedback from the microphone but managed to ge
t rid of it by using a number of toroid=99s in the mic cable on the radio en
d and a couple in the headset cable. I also changed the microphone in the he
      adset.

The radio works OK but I have a small battery (no electrics in the Piet) so
max power output from the radio is limited.

      Hope that helps.

      Jack, could it be #12-24 or #12-28 thread (major diameter .215 - .208")? It's
not so common anymore, but it seems to fit your measurements.
