For anyone interested, the Jeepenpol has flown! Only a short take off and 1
0 minute flight followed by a decent landing, but a personal milestone for
me. In about 20 days it will be three years since I cut the first wood for
the rudder. I had thought I could do it in two years but life has a way of
changing our plans. I know there had been previous discussions about the po
ssibility of using the jeep engine, both pro and con, probably more con tha
n pro. I don't know if proves much except it will fly. When the wind condit
ions are better I will do more testing and tweaking . Hopefully I will have
a video available later and I will try to post a picture that a friend too
      k. The windy morning made the flight and un-known traits just a little nerv
e wracking, but it did quiet well with very little trim issues. It did seem
under-powered until I started to land, then it didn't seem to want to stop
flying, so maybe I didn't have the feel for the plane,(and the !
airspeed ind, wasn't right showing 20 mph) More later

Peter, thanks for the input and photos. I see you have a MGL V10 radio. I have
the V10 in my Sonex and it works very well. I am planning to put a V6 in my Piet.

Very interesting ..... wonder if the radiator up front like that is more susceptible
to holes from debris then in back of the engine?

Was it a problem on a Jenny? I wouldn't think there would be much debris other
      than big bugs maybe?

What difference between front and orig design, where debris concerned?
      None.
