Is this correct? If there is a reason for this, what am I missing? I am well under way with the fuselage and offer a couple of insights/ suggestions for those about to start. (For many this will be Suck eggs, grandma!) Dont fit the ply sides to the fuselage or the firewall until you fit the seats and the controls. Too difficult to get at otherwise. Do, however, place the fuselage sides onto the ply before joining the sides and mark out the edges. This will make it much easier to cut and fit later (I didnt do this, unfortunately). To get a nice curve for the instrument boards, turtle back cowl supports, get a piece of very fine chain (cheap jewellery stuff). Make sure the top of the ply is horizontal, mark out the two edge points and then hang the chain between the points with the bottom of the chain passing through the centre point at the right distance/depth. Use some spray varnish and give the chain a gentle squirt. Youll get a perfect curve marked out. Try it out on some scrap first. To start with I didnt allow for any cut out. (Im pretty sure we thanks the Romans for this trick). Kind regards from way down under, David Boarder (Tasmania) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other Matronics Email List Services ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Post A New Message pietenpol-list@matronics.com UN/SUBSCRIBE http://www.matronics.com/subscription List FAQ http://www.matronics.com/FAQ/Pietenpol-List.htm Web Forum Interface To Lists http://forums.matronics.com Matronics List Wiki http://wiki.matronics.com Full Archive Search Engine http://www.matronics.com/search 7-Day List Browse http://www.matronics.com/browse/pietenpol-list Browse Digests http://www.matronics.com/digest/pietenpol-list Browse Other Lists http://www.matronics.com/browse Live Online Chat! http://www.matronics.com/chat Archive Downloading http://www.matronics.com/archives Photo Share http://www.matronics.com/photoshare Other Email Lists http://www.matronics.com/emaillists Contributions http://www.matronics.com/contribution ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These Email List Services are sponsored solely by Matronics and through the generous Contributions of its members.
