>I don't think Piet pilots realize what a sweet deal this could be. With a motorhome
traveling along with you at pretty much the same pace, you can have a ground
support crew, airport shuttle, first-aid station, and home-cooked hot grilled
cheese sandwiches at every fuel stop ;o) Not only that, but with Glen in
the front cockpit, you have another set of eyes as well as a navigator- all
at no extra charge!

made a few airplane parts this week. I got the part to slide over my axle to keep
my wheels from sliding in made and the brakes will attach to them. I am hoping
the bungees will be enough to keep it from rotating with the wheel one the
brakes are applied. I also got some more done on the wing. Now it is ready to
be flipped over so the plywood trim gusset can be put on the bottom.

I'm in the same boat as Glen. My piet won't be ready, but if things work out I
may make it up to Brodhead in a 1930 Ford Model A.

You will need some sort of attachment like a trailing arm to attach firmly to your
backing plate and then pivot on gear leg to keep your axle from spinning
when brake is applied. Good luck. Sounds like a great build so far

There have been a number of us who have not welded stuff to
our axles. These pics show how my brake assy is kept from
rotating while compensating for the rise and fall of the axle.
I got the idea from someone else but can't find the pic. In
that case it was a cable holding the assy.

Heaven goes by favour. If it went by merit,
you would stay out and your dog would go in
