been putting tapes on the bottom of the wing. Now it's time to flip it over and
do the other side.
I also sprayed a coat of paint on the vertical fin and an elevator. I am learning
the art of using the spray gun so may need some work.

Its all about gun set up and spray patern. Try this: there are three adjustments
on a typical gravity feed HVLP GUN. If you are using any other type of gun
this wont help you. You can get good results out of even a cheap assed harbor
freight gun and youve saved about 800 bucks over purchase of a pro quality gun
that will get about the same result
Air pressure, fluid flow and fan spread are your three controls on the gun. Air
pressure is controlled by a cheater valve where air plugs into gun. The next
valve upwards from handle in fluid flow(think of it as a throttle) the next knob
on handle is for shape of fan. Open fan all the way for now open throttle 2turns.
Start with air pressure available at 35 psi.
Spread max distance between thumb and middle finger. This is.a span. One spandistance
from fluid tip and one span wide at that distance is your target. The spray
pattern you should obtain looks like a very symmetrical oval at a span away
from your work. This is how Ive been setting up a gun for going on fifty years.
I hope this helps. Cant help much more till I know about your paint system
and spray environment.
