    Hi Bill, I have an arrangement like you have on my Piet. I dont find wheel landings, as you appear to be describing, the best method of landing my Piet (187 hours of flying grass and asphalt). Try three point landings on grass. When all three wheels touch full aft stick and keep it there for the roll out. If there is a crosswind, the airplane will not respond well to a traditional low wing into wind and yaw to align with the runway. Youre better to apply a simple crab kick method and then introduce a small roll onto wind for the landing roll out. Your motorcycle wheels on a Pietenpol with wood gear will not have any toe in or out so they should not be the culprit. One possibility is that if your tailwheel steering is one to one with your rudder horn it is likely over steering. This is because your tailwheel horn is half the length of your rudder horn. It should be two to one. (50% throw of the tailwheel vs your rudder). I have a couple thousand hours on various tailwheel aircraft and have found no difficulty flying my Piet. Just some nuances as mentioned above and a possible correction you may require in your tailwheel steering. Good luck!
