Subject: Piper-List: 1975 Warrior Amp meter --> Piper-List message posted by: "A. G. Plumley, Inc." The amp meter needle does not give a steady indication, but rapidly moves right and left. It is very similar to feed-back from the strobe light, but is not in sync with the strobe. We changed the regulator, thinking it was a failed cut-out relay, but still has the same problem. At times it will read normally, reflecting changing loads as you add or turn off things such as the landing light, collision / panel lights, or avionics. At other times the needle goes nuts. I plan to isolate each circuit by tripping the breakers to see if I can narrow down the problem. Could a diode in the alternator cause this? I appreciate any help. Al P N32712
