Got my plane back from Poplar Grove on Saturday. I now have four
new cylinders to replace my 40 hour cylinders. I have to say that the
whole process was pretty painless. I registered my serial numbers
with Superior and they contacted me by phone. They shipped them
out to the engine shop that Thursday. I flew the plane out on Saturday
and told them to do it when they could. They called on Tuesday to
confirm a few things and get started. I could have flew it out on
Thursday, but I didn't want to test fly it at dusk.
Superior picked up the cost, including the necessary mineral oil
and new oil filter. My only expense will be flying around at full
rich mixture for a while. Now I have an excuse to stay in the air longer
than the $100 hamburger run.
