Subject: | Rear Spar Troubles |
During this years annual it was found that at some point someone had put a lucite
'inspection panel' on the inside right wing - just ahead of the flap. When
they had done that, they ran five screws into the rear spar cap, and possibly
into the spar itself. Does anyone know of an approved spar repair?
Thank you,
Lowell Johnson

One approved method is to replace the wing with a serviceable used
one.....minor repair, log book entry only.
Otherwise you are probably looking at getting Piper or DER to engineer
an approved repair to present to FSDO for field approval as a major repair.
