Is SN 276 and has been flying since 2000. Have used mostly autogas and has had 5% ethanol since FL required it a few years ago. I found a non-ethanol supplier a few months ago so now use that. Only visible problem with wing tanks is cracks in paint under one wing, but I don't think that is fuel related. I'm in Sarasota, FL, where are you? I have had it in Florida for 3 years. Over the last 3 years the paint around the gas cap has blistered some and is getting worse. I can also see some stains developing on the bottom of the tanks and the tank outline around the spar seems to be more noticeable. It is hard to explain, but looks like the tank has shrunk ever so slightly, but it is hard to tell. It definitely looks like the fuel is having some effect on the tank. My guess is it has something to do with that nasty ethanol as I burn 90% plus auto fuel vs. 100LL. I never had this problem in Utah. I know that autofuel can have up to 10% ethanol by law, but I know the oil industry never had that high of a percentage until recent years. FYI - I had the quickbuild option from areodesigns, so I didn't build the tank and polysulfide layup, AD did that as part of the kit. Has anyone else seen this issue with thier tanks ?
