Then you can just pull the latch off and the post out. I had a broken pin as well, and I got it out and reassembled it with a new one. Be careful, the edge distance of the hole for the pin is rather small. Otherwise, there should be enough of the screw sticking out that you could get a grip on that. Elastic stop nuts turn more easily if you heat them and the plastic softens.
