I purchased it for $273.07 in May of 2006. It has been out in the sun less than an month. I can send pictures. Instead of tracking wear according to hours, I track by landings. The first pair lasted only 88 landings but included the taxi testing prior to first flight. I replaced with Airhawk 6-ply and got 311 landings out of that pair. I then tried Airhawk 10-ply and got 195 landings. The 10-ply were heavier and felt much harder during ground operations and wore much faster for some reason. For the current pair, I went back to Airhawk 6-ply and currently have 153 landings with about half the tread remaining. Throughout the plane's life, I have experimented with camber and toe-in spacers trying to even up tire wear. I have been using 0 degrees camber and 1 degree toe-out spacers with this pair and current wear indicates the inner half of the tread is wearing faster than the outer half. I will reverse the tires on the rims during annual next month. My 1 degree toe-out spacers do not set the tires to a toe-out position with respect to the plane, they just decrease the toe-in built in to the landing gear. They do last a long time but you pay more for them. I will be replacing them soon, and I am looking at some new tires from Dresser. They are less than half the price of the Michelins so it will be an experiment. Michelins are great tires, put them on and forget about them. Greg In a message dated 6/6/2012 12:31:35 P.M. I have 5x5 on the mains and tried different brand tires to see what lasts the longest. I haven't tried the Michelin yet because of the cost and was wondering if anyone else has. At this point it's worth it to pay more if I don't have to change them so often. Any experience with these tires?
