Im thinking there may be a bad connection in the engine compartment which may be affected by heat. I will do some more troubleshooting. Thanks for the input from all. If you decide on the Jab I can send you some pics off line of my setup. I have the 3300 s/n 18 in my III. Been flying it for 13 years. I used the first Pulsar to 2200 cowl sent to the states to make the cowl for my 3300. Roby Grove designed and built the engine mount. The choices for me are either a Rotax 912ULiS or Jabiru 3300 but I also need a fire wall forward kit. I asked Lockwood for a FWF kit and they seem to only have the engine. So, question one is between the Rotax and the Jabiru. Each has advantages and a disadvantages, some of which depends on your point of view, but the biggest question is about reliability. A browse of the internet indicates that some folks are having reliability issues with the Jabiru but posts on this site say otherwise. I would appreciate hearing from the Jabiru crowd about any maintenance issues with the 3300, or perhaps good things to say about it. The 912ULiS is new so there is a concern about how reliable it will be and whether Rotax has worked out all the bugs. The second question is about sources, who sells engines with fire wall forward kits? Apparently Lockwood doesn't. Jabiru has the FWF kit so that's another plus in their favor.
