It is made by Able Aerospace, ph. 661 257 2500. Because of its short shelf life it is made to order and is rather expensive. When I bought some, it was $165 / qt but smaller quantities are available. Other sealant is fairly ethanol resistant: Jeffco 9700 (grey), gets very hard, only for tank structure, not for sealing end plate Dark purple, polysulfide elastic sealant (Chemseal CS 3204, A-C-Tech AC-236, PR-1440., spec: AMS-S-8802) Sonja On 7/14/13, Bernard Wilder wrote: > > > Today I drained out some fuel from my Pulsar after the plane had not > been fired up for about seven weeks. > > The fuel was a light amber color. > > I assume that ethanol is beginning to dissolve the coating in the fuel > cells. > > What is the latest recommendation for fuel cell sealant that is > resistant to ethanol ? ? ? ? > > Thanks in advance for the recommendations. > > Benie Wilder > > P.S. You will have to devise something to reach all the way to the end of the tank to spread the polysulfide. Will you be driving out to Kansas or flying? That is one long drive. We are starting to plan a year long trip in our motor home, starting in October with a run to Texas. We plan to be on the east coast part of the winter, maybe Myrtle Beach. Do you guys go south for the winter? It would be fun to meet up somewhere in the warm climate. Anyway, sounds like you are doing well and in good health. Looking forward to seeing you in Lawrence. The fuel was a light amber color. I assume that ethanol is beginning to dissolve the coating in the fuel cells. What is the latest recommendation for fuel cell sealant that is resistant to ethanol ? ? ? ? Thanks in advance for the recommendations. Benie Wilder P.S.
