A cheaper (about half the price), better working alternative is available from a number of suppliers. I used the voltage-regulator Deere-AM101406. It has 5 terminals (the Rotax rectifier has 6): B+ (battery) AC, AC (both to generator) L, (not used, can be connected to an indicator light) IGW (ignition / master switch, 12V from system) The body is grounded, add a wire if necessary, good ground is important The terminals are the same style for both rectifiers, so the wiring is interchangeable and it plugs right in. The mounting bolt pattern is different though and if you are using it to replace an existing Rotax rectifier, you need an adapter or drill a new hole. The voltage with the AM101406 is on the average 1V higher (14V) than with the Rotax rectifier (13V), which is better for charging the battery. The voltage fluctuates +-0.5V, which is normal. This rectifier is available from several online sources although they may have different part numbers for it and call it an equivalent replacement. I have flown with it for several years now with no problems.
