With the new rebate that this time includes ADS systems for experimental air craft that takes a $100 off (purchase by 11/15/2019), it may be the last tim e rebates are offered. I went with the uAvionix EchoUAT with the SkyFYX-Ext Waas GPS reciever/anten na module. List is $1,399. It provides ADS-B In via WiFi for the weather a nd traffic to a iPad or Android apps, plus it works with existing Mode C tra nsponders for the ADS-B out triggering. Now hear is another piece of news, some distributors for uAvionx discount th is package. I ordered mine from Dallas Avionix for $1,100 (talk to Miguel C orrea) , so after rebate it will be $1,000 cost (plus about $10 shipping). T he only additional items needed for the installation that I am anticipating b esides my personal installation labor is the coax cable between EchoUAT and t he antenna that is included in the bundle and the wires to power the uAvionx . Not sure yet how long of a coax cable I need yet. I am sure there will be other deals yet to happen out there, but at this tim e it may not be much more of a savings and ADS-B systems are starting to see months of backlog and delivery. I expect to get my ADS-B bundle in the nex t 2-3 weeks (as they told me the SkyFYX-Ext was out of stock and on order). I then have until 01/31/2020 to submit proof of purchase, installation phot os, and passing PAPR to get my $100 rebate gift card. Nice that we experimental owners, get a break on the cost of complying with t he 2020 ADS-B compliance.
