If it was then one has to ask why it fluttered. HRll Rockets, F-1 Rockets,
RV4 Rockets, RV6 Rockets, and RV8 Rockets have no history of flutter that I
am aware of. Many are flying at well over 300 hp with no flutter reports.
The recent tail departure on the Creekmore F-1 has the apearance of a major
building mistake. There is a reliable report that the HS tail was missing
one of two attach points. The rear was not bolted to the longerons as per
the design. If this is true then I don't see how it could have lasted very
long. To make matters worse, the remaining front attach point had one of
it's critical bolt holes drilled too close to an edge. The report has that
edge ripping open. It would seem that the builder (s?) doomed the pilot on
the day it fell apart. Sure would like to know how this aircraft passed
final inspection and who was the building assistant. Very sad....
