I loved the thread on interior colors, so I thought I would ask one of my own:
I'm sure just like interiors, engines are very personal, but I have to ask. Turbo-props
aside (don't have that much cash), what is the best engine out there
for the rocket. ie. IO-340k... What if I had the cash for new (not likely but...)
Has anyone put the Cont IO550 in it?
What about electronic ignitions (which ones have worked the best)?
I know some guys have started with the basic Aztec engine (O-540) and put fuel
injection on it, and higher comp pistons and are getting around 390 HP? What
do you guys think?

Jeff,
I build racing engines for a living, and can tell you that even a freshly
built IO-540
with high compression pistons will not honestly dyno at 390hp. (at least not
at 2750 rpm)
A pulsed injection system AKA FADEC will increase power over the factory
system.
