Check with Barrett Perf engines in TUL they have a cold air induction system
that boosts the HP way up there.They do Patty Wagstaff`s engines,so any one
that can do engines that even girls can`t tear up must have something goin`

Guys
Just keep in mind that some of these add ons may not fit in the standard
cowlings. We know that the I0-540-C4B5, and some variations, fit the
cowling. When you go to a different block or non "standard" sumps they may
not fit the cowling and the standard exhaust system that John Harmon or
Larry Vetterman supplies may not fit. This is not to say that you cannot
make these changes but they could add a considerable amount of time, and
probably weight, to the project.
The other consideration with added HP is the potential for reduced TBO.

This is so true. My engine is a IO-540 J4A5. If you look it up, it states
that it is the same as the C4B5 but was set up for turbo charging (My is not
turbo charged). Anyway, I had to modify the firewall to make this engine
work. I love the rocket, just wish there was some room between the engine
and the firewall. It doesn't take much before there can be conflicts.

My goosed up LyCon engine (C4B5-EXP) has 1000 hr TBO, but I'll take
that anytime for the boosted performance--maybe the doctor dropped me
on my head when I was born--but, sh*t, man, I really like to go
fast--and low--ask Gummi Bear--I have a photo of his F-4 Weasel doing a
fairly hard turn with a wingtip about 2 ft AGL--it looks like it was
taken with an automatic camera and from the topography it looks like
Nellis Range (Red Flag). For the record, the photo had to be an
optical illusion, as an experienced AF pilot never flies below
minimums, tho Navy pilots do!--we have to--to protect our
Commander-in-Chief (F-102, Delta Dagger, AF Reserves, if memory
serves). And, besides, flaring when you land is like squatting when
you pee (my apologies to any females reading this, but it's an old
horse).
