Speaking of hex head screws......has anyone sourced out 8/32 countersunk Robertson drive screws yet? Phillips screws suck! He seems to be out of business now. He only supplied the leg fairings and wheel pants. Does anyone know of a place that would have the fairings that go at the top of the leg fairings at the cowling and also the same at the bottom of the legs to the wheel pants? Thanks. Some people did a lousy job of building their tanks, a lousy job of flying by not switching tanks when the engine quit because their fuel pickup came loose, and Van put out a Service Bulletin that all tanks have to be taken apart and the fuel pickup inspected and safety wired - the SB is on Van's website. Just do a good job of building your tanks, make sure all is tight before you close your tanks and you won't have to worry. As for safety wiring the nut I think that is ludicrous given all the similar nuts in all the systems that AREN'T safetied. And by the way - I talked to Dick VanGrunsven at breakfast last Saturday and he said it is not a mandatory SB - no such thing exists for experimental airplanes. After spending many hours trying to make the Team Rocket fairings work (no longer available), I recommend you do them from scratch. Everyone I have spoken to said it is no big deal. Go for it.
